With this property already benefiting from solar Thermal, for hot water consumption, the owners were keen to take more advantage of the sun's power. However with the only South facing roof space consumed with the solar thermal panels.

Some additional consideration was required when designing the PV system. With East and West facing roof space available with no shading issues, an array was designed with 2 separate inverters to maximise both strings.

With an East/West array careful consideration must be taken to limit the effect of natural shading as the first thing in the morning, the west array will be consumed in shade as the East array will in the evening.

This customer also had extensive roofing works required, GMC were able to advise and prepare a design and costings while on site. Also repairing snow damaged cast guttering and replacing plastic guttering.
