Renewable Energy

We pride ourselves on our environmetal ethics.  Have a look below at some of the energy efficient appliances we use.

Ground Source Heat Pumps

A ground source heat pump unit uses the natural energy stored in the earth to heat your home.

Our Greenstore ground source heat pumps are suitable for a variety of properties and are designed to be the sole source of heating and hot water in the home. System heat pumps require a separate cylinder and can also be used with solar water heating. Combi heat pumps have an intergrated cylinder.

For every single kilowatt of electricity used to power the ground source heat pumps, this system could generate four kilowatts or more in energy for your home.

Greenskies solar panels use the power in both direct and diffused sunlight, converting the energy into heat, to produce hot water for the home.

A well-sized solar panel system could provide up to 60% of your annual hot water requirements.

The solar panels are designed to go with existing heating systems that use a cylinder to store hot water. The panels are the perfect partner to our Greenstar regular and system condensing boilers.

The solar panels are available in portrait and landscape versions to suit a variety of roof sizes and shapes. FKC solar panels are standard and FKT solar panels are high performance.

Air Sourced Heat Pumps

The air source heat pumps convert the free and sustainable latent energy in the air into heat, delivering green, low-cost, energy-saving heating and hot water all year round.

Rain water harvesting

Rain water harvesting can be stored in sub-terrain tanks and used for all house hold needs. We have been successfully using polypipe products for years and we continue to use there range of products.

Here at GMC we can provide you with several different options to harvest rain water from your home roof and surrounding water courses.

From 2000ltr to 5000ltr we can fit a tank size that will best suit your home and your water consumption. Depending on your size of home and number of occupants.

The systems we install are buried out of sight within your garden and fed by your rain water down pipes. Some systems can be fitted with optional ground water inlet valves (with filters). These valves allow ground water from a rising water table to enter the storage area of the tank, thus equalising the hydrostatic pressures on internal and external surfaces, preventing tank collapse or flotation. Here at GMC we will distinguish at the design stage which system will work best with your property.

Recycled rainwater can be used for most house hold uses greatly reducing your fresh water consumption.

Toilet Flushing
Rainwater is perfect for toilet flushing - the highest consumer of water in domestic buildings. Using rainwater for this purpose can cut mains water consumption by up to 30%. Systems installed incorporate a mains water backup to maintain operation if sufficient rainwater is not available.

Laundry Washing
Although great efforts are made by equipment and detergent manufacturers to reduce the environmental impact of laundry washing, the actual water consumption is often overlooked.

Car Washing
Recycled rainwater can be used for washing cars. Again 'soft' rainwater requires less detergent and leaves a streak free finish.

Garden Use
Recycled rainwater is ideal for watering the garden with no dehydrating chlorine or salt content, rainwater will keep grass and plants watered and healthy.
